World Desk:
In response to a question about the exact amount of Indian assets lost in the ongoing military tension between India and Pakistan, a top Indian Air Force official said that losses are normal in war. However, he did not agree to provide detailed information about the exact amount of losses.
According to a report by Indian media outlet The Wire, Air Force officials gave details of the Indo-Pak war at a press conference at the Ministry of Defense on Sunday. At that time, in response to questions from journalists, Air Marshal AK Varthy of the Indian Air Force said, “We are still at war. And losses are part of war.” When asked about the losses of the three-and-a-half-day war, he only said this.
Pakistan claims that it has shot down several Indian warplanes in the ongoing conflict. According to news broadcast in international media, Pakistan has shot down one or more Indian Rafale warplanes.
However, military officials did not want to talk about these issues at the press conference of the Ministry of Defense. Air Marshal AK Varthy said, “You and we should also ask ourselves just one question. That is, have we achieved our objective? I mean, have we destroyed their terrorist hideouts?’
Bharti said, ‘The answer is, yes. We have destroyed the terrorist hideouts across the border. And the whole world knows it. They have witnessed it.’
When asked about what India lost and how much property was damaged in the war, he said, ‘I do not want to comment on that. Because we are still in a war situation. If I say anything, it will benefit the adversary.’
However, he confirmed, ‘We have succeeded in the objective for which we conducted this operation. All our pilots have returned home safely.’
